WE DON’T DEFINE OUR STUDIO BY A STYLE. WE BELIEVE EVERY HOME IS INDIVIDUALLY DIFFERENT AND REQUIRES SPECIFIC DESIGN NEEDS. WE DESIGN FOR THE HOMEOWNER AND THE STYLE OF THEIR LIVES, SUPPORTING THE MOST PERSONAL MOMENTS IN THE HOME THROUGH INTENTIONAL CHOICES THAT INCREASE YOUR OVERALL QUALITY OF LIFE.

OUR DESIGN
PHILOSOPHY
We believe life is about people. People are about relationships. Relationships are about love. Love is about giving the best. Giving the best requires the best design. We give the best design out of love to others to build relationships in life.
WHAT IS DESIGN?
WE believe that design is first, problem solving. The act of designing implies an intended function. It is an objective, step by step process that results in a resolution to a defined problem.
Most of the general population tend to think of art and design in one big category. THE designers and artists OF THE WORLD know that there is a distinct difference. This difference was SIMPLY DEFINED by American designer, Donald Judd saying, "Design has to work, art does not". Though the definition of art is an ongoing, ever-changing discussion, art always carries subjectivity, being the main difference. It can be an expression of an idea with no intended function. Design on the other hand needs an objective end goal. It has to "work". It has to solve a problem.
There are countless problems in the world that we live in. The benefit is that we have the ability to solve some of them through the power of design. A mother in need of storage for her kitchen appliances in middle America, and a village of poverty stricken people in need of a fresh water supply, are two extremely different problems but can both be solved through the wonderful tool of design. Design is powerful, and as designers we have the opportunity and the responsibility to use it for the greater good of humanity.
THE PURPOSE OF DESIGN
Design is not just an arbitrary objective process but, has an ultimate goal, and that is to enhance the quality of life itself. It doesn't just sit on A shelf and used ONLY when we need it. No, design is a fundamental element of our reality and is integrated INto every part of life whether we notice it or not.
DESIGN IS THE OVERARCHING WORD WE USE TO DESCRIBE WHAT WE DO AS HUMAN BEINGS IN ALL OF REALITY. THE PURPOSE IS NOT JUST TO MAKE MONEY OR BE A CAREER FOR SOMEONE BUT TO MAKE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR HUMANITY BETTER in every WAY. It affects every moment and feeling WE HAVE AND SHOULD BE USED TO make life as enjoyable and amazing as it can be.
THE POWER OF DESIGN
As humans we have the ability to do anything we put our minds to. Design is the tool that literally gives form to thought. If we start with the belief that we actually have the superpower to turn anything we think of into reality, it only becomes a matter of resource, and time. Believing in the power of design eliminates bias, prejudice, ideas that stem from hate, and anything that restricts you from creating what you actually want to exist. The mindset that anything is possible doesn't leave design to become a self-serving tool to the designer. Instead, it becomes about realizing the dreams of other people. As designers we should count it our privilege and duty to make dreams come true.
At the end of the day, design should be rooted in feeling. If it doesn't feel right, it probably won't be right. We are humans, not robots. We feel. We love. We emote. We long for things that connect us. Imagination is the soul of creativity and stems directly from feeling. Without feeling and connection, design is meaningless.
THE PRINCIPLE OF FORM AND FUNCTION
Form and Function is a principle that stretches across all disciplines of design. It is foundational to the design process and directs design thinking. It is generally accepted in the design world that form follows function. In my opinion, form and function always work in tandem, like two wheels on an axle, one never more important than the other and one never following the other. If you believe that form always follows function, we assume that we know all the best functions there are to know. We merely then fit the form to the already understood function. This is where the presumed principle fails.
If one starts with pure form, and lets their imagination lead them to a new and undefined form, we can then explore new possible functions based on that form. This gives birth to new technology, new products, and new discoveries of our universe. This is the power of starting with form and this is why form and function are equal in value and place. Form does not just follow function. We can never think as designers that we know all the answers or know all the best functions. There is always new technology, new possibilities, and new forms that will bring about new functions that increase our quality of life.
